| The internationally recognized Yesaroun Duo explores an eclectic mix of contemporary art music with influences ranging from classical to popular, from academic to spiritual and from serious to absurd. The Duo has, in just three years, commissioned and premiered seventeen new works for saxophone and percussion and has been featured in recitals and concert series all over the northeast United States and in Cuba. Solomon has premiered works for soloist and orchestra in Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall and Jordan Hall, including the American premiere of Iannis Xenakis final work, O-Mega. Mr. Solomon is currently finishing a comprehensive book for composers, How to Write for PERCUSSION. This text, due in mid 2003, will be the most complete of its kind. Mr. Solomon made Tanglewood his home for six summers, three of them as a Fellow of the Tanglewood Music Center and is currently finishing up his sixth and final year at the Juilliard School, completing his second degree there. Saxophonist Eric Hewitt has performed as soloist with nine Boston area orchestras, including the American premiere of Luciano Berios Chemin IV in 2000 with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project Concerto. Hewitt returned in 2003 to perform the Berio with BMOP a second time. Mr. Hewitt has presented world premieres of works by Gunther Schuller and Larry Bell, among many others and has recorded the music of Donald Martino, Iannis Xenakis and Franco Donatoni. Beyond classical music, Hewitt is a member of the Ryles Jazz Orchestra. Mr. Hewitt has returned to the New England Conservatory, where he received his BM in 2001 with highest honors, for a Masters Degree in conducting as the Tourjeé Alumni Award winner. |
