Mark Walker is a professor at Berklee College of music and has also been on the faculty of Drummers Collective in NYC. He is also the author of the instructional book "World Jazz Drumming" (Berklee Press/Hal Leonard).

He has performed worldwide since 1989 with Paquito D'Rivera and has been a member of OREGON since 1996. He's also worked extensively with Michel Camilo, Dave Samuels, Andy Narell, Caribbean Jazz Project, Lyle Mays and many others.

Mark is often sought out for his knowledge of Latin American (South American and Caribbean) styles for drum set and percussion. He is equally at home teaching jazz, rock, blues and funk as well. He teaches privately via Skype and at his home in Natick, MA.

Most of Mark's students are college age to adult, but if a student is willing to dedicate enough time to progress, any age is okay.

When a student comes to Mark, he or she is asked about their goals. The student is then assessed and a lesson plan is decided upon. Lessons can be 30 minutes or 1 hour. Students may also take a semi-private lesson at a discounted rate. Please email mwalker@berklee.edu for details.
